Shifter not unlocking after depressing brake..Help
This morning, started my 92 Accord LX 4door sedan, pushed down on the brake, and went to move the shifter.. and it wouldnt come out of park. I also noticed that I wasnt hearing the "solenoid" activate to release the lock. What I was able to do, was stick the key into the shifter lock and move it out of park to neutral, then start the car. Where is this solenoid located.. any diagnosis tips?

Re: Shifter not unlocking after depressing brake..Help
Remove the console housing to get to the solenoid (held with about 6 screws). But my guess is that it's the switch, or the small plastic button pressed into the brake pedal, that's at fault. Check 2 other things --- see if your brake lights operate correctly, and also your cruise control. Problems with either of those indicate a switch/button problem.
