other brands

I agree..I think the Nazi word is very sensitive although I'm not german.
I'm quite new in this forum, but feel I have to post here. Many people tell me like "why the fuc.. are you driving a honda civic?? it's a granny car". I don't care though, cause I love my car even if its a slow 1.4i. It's a great car. I get blown away by GTI's all the time, but it's a matter of going in style not going fast for me. Although going fast definetively will be an issue when I get older and my insurance gets cheaper. BUT! There are other cars then Honda out there I like, and if a person comes up to me and tell me he bought an old Skoda with the biggest smile on his face, feeling happier than ever, I don't wanna tell him "man, that sucks". I'll rather tell him "good for you, do you like it?" or something like that. We should all accept eachothers choice of cars, and if we have to critizise, let's do it in a constructive way. This was like a "moral post", but y'all know what I mean. Lets encourage maxing and styling of cars, no matter what brand. But I do have to say...WV GTi owners DO think they're better than us... But give me a Honda ANY day!

Thats what a lot of people thought about Honda in the UK. Now all of a sudden to own a Honda is the greatest thing. People can be ignorant in there views at times even without stepping into a car.

BTW Welcome to AF. The european forum is getting very busy these days

thanx goose!
I've been checking out your car before, since it's such a beatyful shape! :sun: Love the paint job you did on your handles and mirrors! What size are your rims, and how much and on what is it lowered? Rubbing? Nice to see someone not sporting a vtech!

Have you seen the original pics or the photoshopped ones? The one in my sig is photoshopped +/-1" lower then the real one  . My car is lowered on Spax springs (-5cm), I'm seriosly thinking of putting Koni's on my car. The rims are 16" BSA racings.

BTW: I ask this at every 1.4i owner, do you got the 75hp or the 90 hp version?

photoshop's cheating :silly2: hehe, cool though.
I'm afraid it's the 75hp version. I think the 90hp version is called 1.4iS, at least in Norway. I waiting for my H&R springs, dropping the car 3.5 cm (damn its good to be in a european forum with european measures ). Hoping to afford some yellow konis in the future too. Handles GREAT! (a friend of mine has them). How's the handling with lowering springs, original dampers and 16's?

Well, the handling was pretty good when I first got the lowering springs, but they seem to be softer now. The stock shocks also wear down faster, that's why I'm going for the Koni's. The handling is acceptable.

This is the reason I always ask. You can get the 75hp version very easy to 90hp. You need to use another intake valve (I think it's called like this, part just below where the airintake goes into the engine). The mechanic were you go will know what I'm talking about. It cost me 15 euro to make the mod and you can feel a difference when you accelerate.

BTW: I even think you'll be a bit faster then the 1.4iS. The 1.4i is a lot lighter (no AC, power windows, power mirrors,...)

Wow, I didn't know! That's a VERY interesting modification, 15hp from only 15euro..With a cat replacement and maybe a header I'll be over 100hp!That'd be great! I have to check out the

Don't know where to get it . My mechanic had it lying around, it took 15 min to change. Maybe the english members know the exact name for it. What year is your car?

See you back soon.

BTW: the intake valve that has to go in there has a bigger diameter hole then the stock one. Maybe it's the one from the 1.4iS, don't know for sure.
