1990 Ford Taurus wiring harness color code.
Hello, I searched the boards and surprisingly havent found this yet.
I didnt buy the adapter for a CD player and I did the wiring myself. I figured out all the speakers, but I cant seem to figure out which ones are Battery and the Ignition wires. Can someone help? |

Here is the deal, the yellow wire with a black stripe is hot at all times, shown to be for power antenna.
The Light green wire with a yellow stripe is hot at all times, doesn't specify it's use but is probably for the memory. Both the light blue wire with a red stripe and the orange wire with a black stripe are ignition controlled. This is for a 92 Taurus, but the wiring is probably the same for the 90 model, but I'll not swear to it. When in doubt, use a test light. Connect one lead to the wire and the other to a ground on the car. If it light with the ignition off, it's got battery voltage at all times. If it lights only when the ignition is turned on, well then, it's ignition controlled - or use a volt meter to do the same. |
