2000 LS V-8 Misfire

Pulled my coil cover on the passenger side and the last cylinder coil pack nearest to the firewall had moisture/oil on it like others I have read in this forum. Went to AutoZone and the PCM says a misfire on cylinder #3. I have decided to replace both valve cover gaskets, replace the fuel filter, change the plugs and replace the #3 coil pack. However, I need to know which cylinder is which? I saw someone had listed the cylinder order for the V-6, could someone please list the V-8 numbers? Thanks.

Oh yeah we did, I got both hurricanes at work and home...went without power 10 days for the first one and 3 days for the second. BTW, Thanks for the post...I'm gonna attempt to replace the valve cover gaskets myself. Only problem looks like the lack of space around the heads. Just can't stomach paying $300.00 for a mechanic to do it...ya know?

I hope your property was spared. My Grandparents live in Orlando next to sea world and they faired ok. They did go without power for 2 days though. I guess living next to the theme parks can have its privilidges.

Say when are you goig to make the repair?

We were very lucky, only lost a few tiles off our roof, the soffit on the back of the house and one pool screen panel. Did break every tree in our yard though...

I'm going to call the Licoln dealership tommorrow for the price of the gaskets, can't find them anywhere else. So, I will probably have to wait until this weekend. I also just lost my passenger rear window. So I'm gonna try and get the dealership to fix this...sounds like a common problem for this year LS.

BTW.... I just picked up an ignition coil from autozone. They can get them for 33 dollars from an aftermarket OEM company named Wells.

I had to remove the entire power unit just to get the window back up. So at this point it is wired shut and the power unit is setting in my garage... I did read other posts about window problems and I thought I would try and get the Lincoln dealer to repair it. After looking at that contraption, I don't think I would be able to repair it myself anyway.

Re: 2000 LS V-8 Misfire

If the window problem is the regulator then you can do it in a snap.

fordpartsnetwork.com is a great source for cheap ford parts.

Here are the 4th Gen window regulator part numbers.

R/R regulator- 4W4Z-5427008-AA

L/R regulator- 4W4Z-5427009-AA

Much cheaper becasue you have to reuse your motor. If the motor is bad which I doubt then you will have to buy the full kit.

I have done these so many times I can do em in my sleep. My drivers side is on the blink and am certain I will have to replace it soon AGAIN!.

It is a breeze. It all comes as a sigle unit not much work at all. Is your email address in your profile current?

Are these part numbers for the rear windows? If so, does anyone know the PN for the front windows?
