Power windows and locks not working on 97 4runner

My 4runner's driver power window switch and lock isn't working and I was wondering if anyone could help me diagnose the problem. My power windows does not work for the other windows as well. However, the power lock switch works for the passenger side though. I went to the dealer to diagnose the problem and they said that the switch was not working, so I went to a junkyard to find a replacement switch. However, when i replaced it, the windows and lock still don't work. I can't seem to find any other reason for it not working. Also, I've also noticed a problem with my cd changer not powering up but my radio currently works. I was wondering if these problems may be related.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Power windows and locks not working on 97 4runner

Well, is the cd changer aftermarket, or stock. If it is aftermarket, they probably ran the wires through the drivers side floor. Which means it might be touching the drivers side electrical wires, which might be stopping the locks and windows going down. As for all the windows not going down, you might have pressed the orange/black button, which means non of the windows would go down, and if it is shorted out, it can't be turned on or off. I suggest you take off the door panel, and the plastic piece on the floor. I might be wrong though, but I had a problem similar to this.

Thanks for replying, and yes the cd changer is aftermarket. I'll look into the electrical wiring problem to see if I can fix it.

Found the problem

So I found out the problem with the power window and lock. One of the wires to the window switch tore apart. So I reconnected it and fixed it.

The cd changer still doesn't work though.

Well, maybe its the changer its self. Maybe its fuse is blown, or its just busted, good luck with that.
