1997-1998 240sx vs 1993-1999 supra TT

What do you think is a better choice?
Also on autoshows you see a LOT of supras, eclipses, civics. But not 240s. PLus insurance for supra tt is A LOT. What would you get?
As you are right now (rich-poor)
I would probably go with the 240sx, cause I don'y have money for insurance, nor for 2 turbos instead of one, 6 pistons instead of 4 etc.

Supra. Bottom end known to hold 900+whp. Tons and tons of aftermarket support. Just an awesome car all around. One of the only cars I would trade my 240 for. Anyone else see the September issue of SCC? 9.70s. Oh yes, definately supra.

With all partiality aside, I would have to go with the MKIV. It is much more exotic, and I believe it is one of the best stylistically designed cars ever created. Plus, the Supra gets the ladies, 240... not so much.

what i want to know is where u found a twin turbo supra for sale those arent exactly the easiest of cars to find. i would get the supra even though i love 240's. but i still find it hard to believe that u found a twin turbo for sale thats lucky, be sure to make sure the engine is good

I found it at the local insurance place. It was flooded and now for sale at 6700. Good project car.

personally i would go for the supra TT
i love the 240 i mean shiet i had two

but the fact is the supra is rarier harder to find and for that price comeon, the interior is messed up imm guessing because you said flooded

you could always just replace that, the 240 is a common car although sometimes hard to find in good condition but if you really want one fix it up

if i had that option i would of, but *sigh* i was an hour to late going to the dealership to buy my 97 supra [i got some messed up luck sometimes]

Re: 1997-1998 240sx vs 1993-1999 supra TT

hmm all the TT supras i find are still 25k or more...so if i had 25k i would buy a 240....put all 25k in it....and i think i would spank a stock supra....STOCK lol...well even a somewhat moded supra too i guess. But yea the supra would take it in the long run obviously....but i did download a vid of a 240(180) going 200mph in japan somewhere. It was down this huge straightway that was a tunnel it was tite to see....blows by the camera man whos at a standstill. But i cant seem to find the vid anymore.....damn parents

Re: 1997-1998 240sx vs 1993-1999 supra TT

i prefer 240sx to supras. simply because 240's are drifters and are made by nissan. supras prolly have the most aftermarket support, but i think they are just getting plain old boring, too many of em around. My fav car is the S15, when I open up my door, girls drool on the interior lol

Re: 1997-1998 240sx vs 1993-1999 supra TT

I would take the 240, not cuz I like it more than the Supra, it is cuz......... well point blank I'm broke as fuck at the moment, the cash it is going to take to fix the flood damage, then start upgrading it (and don't foregett, Supra stuff ain't cheap), I'll have a VG30Dett swapped in (240 is a lighter car), and enough left over cash to get me to the 500-600hp range, and I think I'll kill most Supras, well except for those monster +800Hp supras.

I was telling a dealer friend of mine to be very careful since we live down south, the hurricans and all the flooding, is going to result in tons of cars being auctioned off, the good thing is that they will be very cheap, but I know from experience what happens when water or moisture gets into electrical circuits, one of the first things to go is the ECU, they short out. Then all the rest come second. But, you can always buy them for parts, as the engine hardly gets damaged unless an idiot trys to start the eninge when the cylinders are full of water, all you have to do with the motor is drain the fluid and it is good to go.

I still think getting the Supra will be a good investment, you could either part it out or put some money into it and fix it, since the ECU might be fucked, get a stand alone, get after market sound system, get better high performance sensors and shit. See the thing is, when Modifying a car, we replace tons of shit, especially electrical stuff, bigger injectors, new sensors, the harness hardly goes bad, usually the only thing that will damage a harness is fire, or too much current which leads to excessive heat and meltdown. So look at it this way, if the car ain't drivable, the time it will be getting on the road, it will be laced with so much shit, now the hard part will be finding a Ferrari/porsche to race you. If money wasn't an object, I would have gotten the Supra, but right now at my income level, 240 is all I can afford.
