93 RX7 auto with possible a major problem?
"About six months ago it went a couple of turns around the block (engine ran well, good compression), then the transmission just didn't seem to want to "go" anymore...someone has mentioned something about a solenoid inside?" This is what this guy is telling me. It has 80,000 miles on it, and in very good condition and said hed sell it to me for 6 thousand bucks, now im wondering if anybody knows what might be the problem and if its worth buying? Im not looking to make this car any faster. just a cruiser. It also wont start he said, but he said the engine turns over? So who knows?

Re: 93 RX7 auto with possible a major problem?
80,000 miles of a 3rd gen FD will be wanting a heart transplant soon aka a new motor.
$6,000 isn't a bad deal for an FD but its an auto. bleh. Either way, you could buy and swap a jspec longblock into it and make it a manual transmission. Everything would probably be under $11,000 total. which is pretty good. FD auto transmissions don't break very often because they were built to handle the twin turbo setup. I think they also boost slightly less and the rev limit is lower than manual trannys. Either way, its a good deal if you want to do the labor. If not, I'll buy it. What color? and where?
