New Pathfinder owner

No, not a new Pathfinder, I'm just the new owner of it.

I'm excited about having a 4x4 in SW Colorado finally. It's a 1988 Pathfinder 4x4 SE. 2 door V6, power everything. I can't wait to start modifying this sucker. I'm thinking I'll start with a 2" frame lift and moving up to some 32s. That's just for starters.

Anyway, this is my first car forum to be on, so I look forward to swapping stories about various autos -

Here's a brief history of all the auto's I've owned, and it's an interesting mix.

(in order of appearance)

1969 Firebird 400. 4 speed. Not the original 400 but it was fast. when it was running. Crashed it, parted it out.
1978 El Camino. Good car/truck. Left at my dad's when I went to Europe for three months. Step Mom sold it. Ahh, good times.
1953 Chevy 3/4 Ton. Only true pickup I owned. Made the mistake of adjusting the valves without any specs. Blew it up a week later seeing how fast it would go. Junkyard got that one.
1989 Chevy Spectrum. Once drove 5000 miles in a week in this thing. Bullet proof until I abandoned it in front of a friend's house. Eventually turned it over at a party.
1980 Buick Skyhawk. Bought for $624. Just barely got my money's worth before it threw a rod (it was in bad shape when I got it) and I left it in an apartment complex.
1985 Honda Shadow - yeah, it's a motorcyle. Still own this, but it's in the middle of a rebuild.
1969 Chevy Nova - 4 door. Roommate killed it by driving it without oil for about 3 hours. Hey, watchya gonna do?
1981 Volkswagon Rabbit Diesel Pickup. Killed his, too. Gave it to a hispanic guy that was on the phone next to me at a gas station. 330,000 miles on it when I put it in the grave. Hopefully, the hispanic guy resurrected it.
and the 1988 Nissan Pathfinder. I've had it for a week and already it won't start. Hopefully fixing it today.

As you can see, I have the fesces touch when it comes to internal combustion machines. But I've never made a car payment in 17 years of driving, and I've managed to keep most things running. So I'll dispense advice and idea, but remember the source before you act on any of it.
