Question 1991 Cavalier Door & Seat Belt

Had to replace the front window guide on a 1991 Chevrolet Cavalier. Was able to complete the job, but now the seat belt will not extend from the door when the door is closed. It will extend when the door is open (even just a crack). Did I miss something when I re-installed the door panel? Is there a seat belt interlock or something? Any information would help. Thanks a lot.

I have the same problem with my 92 2 door. Did you ever find out what caused it? I replaced the window regulartor roller. Thanks.

I don't know if I found the true problem, but I replaced the screw holding the plate covering the lap portion of the belt with one slightly shorter and it seems to work. Sorry not very scientific.

Thank you for replying. I did use a longer screw to put that part in and maybe it is the problem. I did find out that if the door was open and the latch was closed the belt would not come out. Maybe the screw is grounding out the latch. We will see
