Cookies?

What are the names of the AF cookies??? I´ve searched them on my harddrive but I couldn´t find them,....I think. I want to delete my harddrive but I don´t want to lose my name and all the stuff again! Can anybody please help me out with that?! Thanx!

They will be something like: veetec@www.automotiveforums[1]. I use Windows NT in work and you will find your cookies in the following directory; C:\WINNT\Profiles\"your username"\Cookies

It will be different for Win95,98. Just do a search for the folder Cookies.

Huh, I think I´ve found it this time but I searched for the exact same word like before! Weird...

Is it something like this: bbuserid(number)www.automotiveforums.com/ ???

Is it a .txt file. If it is then that's your cookie.

Yes, it is! It should be the right one but I just want to be sure. Otherwise I have to start with a new username and with a zero postcount!

It isn't really necessary to keep your cookie. I delete all my cookies ones every month or so and you just have to sign in again, you don't loose your username or something.

Maybe, but I´ll save them on a floppy disk anyways just to be sure. I´m known for messing up anything what has to do with computers!:silly2:

Normally you should remember you username and password. I change computers from time to time (school computers, home, library,...). These all work fine for me.

Of course I know my username and password. I meant I´m always messing up the programs and stuff like that!

I´ve also tried to use my passowrd and username on our school computers but it didn´t work!

School computers are often behind a firewall that blocks that kind of passwords

SO nothing really to bother about.
