Question Serpentine Belt

Hi everyone im new here. i have a 94 s-10 2.2L 4x2 w/air and would like to know how hard it would be for a beginner like myself to change the serpentine belt. what is involved? should i take it to a mechanic instead?

Should be really simple.

You put a rachet and socket on the bolt end on the tensioner and put weight on it to take the tension off of the belt.

After that it just a easy swap.

You might need someone to srping the tensioner again while you put the new belt on.

Total time = 15-20 minutes.

shouldn't be a problem...my truck has liked to shell them out before...so i always keep an extra with me and some tools...and it takes me like 2 min on the side of the road to fix it

Done!

Well, i did it. I was fun. I got messy. But as the cherry on top for the whole job well done, i also put in a K&N Air filter. Thanks for your help everyone.

Might need a helper to reinstall the new belt, keep your old one for an emergency spare, draw a picture of the belt path if you're not sure of how it goes back on
