Le
Larry Ellison. His private hanger which caused so much controversy. Wonder if he knows how many people sat in his car?

![]() I don't think that I have seen many pictures of Ellison's car. He seems to be one of the more private F1 owners. Does anybody have any other pictures of his car? I'm surprised that he actually let these people near his F1. I have heard stories that make him out to be a very neurotic person, and he supposedly cherishes his F1 (can you blame him?). - - - - - - - - - - - - - On a completely unrelated note, I was wondering what happend to the F1 GTR that was for sale at Symbolic Motors. I recently moved to Southern California from Northern California, and all I can say is 'Holy Crap.' I think that I have seen more exotic cars in the past few days, than I have seen in my entire life. The reason why I am telling you this, is because I now live just a few miles away from Symbolic Motors and plan on going there in the next couple of days. If there is anything you guys want me to ask them, let me know. Besides that, I'm just curious on the whereabouts of that car. Thanks, John |

Before today, I had never seen a photo of an F1 that could be confirmed as Larry Ellison's. I don't believe he uses it much, or that it sees much time outside that hangar. Its more than likely a trophy of excess to a man like him, based on the things I have read. I'd like to be told I'm wrong about that, but I doubt I am. I'm surprised that the car is even plated to be honest, but a careful eye will notice that the registration sticker on those plates expired the day after those pictures were taken. I wonder if it was time for another smog check??
I don't know where the owner of the car sold through Symbolic lives, but it would appear that the car is stored in New York, or at least prepped by that Hudson Historics company located there. If you can find out any info about it that would be great!! I'd be interested in knowing what brought the car to the USA. Its possible that Symbolic just found it available and wanted to bring it here, knowing they could sell it. I've heard that the people who worked at the Symbolic location in LA (now gone I believe) were very friendly, so hopefully you'll receive a warm reception at the La Jolla location. As for any dealers currently selling an F1 in the USA - I don't beleive there are any. The last one that had an F1 on it's showroom floor was Shelton Ferrari, but that car belonged to a customer and was not really for sale. >8^) ER |

Nice, nice. Finally, pics of Larry Ellison's F1.
By they way, the person responsible for the pics is damn lucky. I wonder how she got to see the car. |

Who's mako. LOL
I assume that you're talking to me mini, and sorry but I already went to Symbolic yesterday. I didn't pay much attention to their classic car selection, so I'm not sure if I got any shots of the 250 Europa. I did get a bunch of pictures, but unfortunately they're on my camera phone. The quality isn't too bad, so I'll upload a few within the next couple of days. At 3 cents a KB, uploading all 30 or so pictures would cost me around $35. Now, about the F1 GTR, the guys working at Symbolic wouldn't budge on releasing information. They said that they couldn't tell me who bought the car, nor could they tell me how they got a hold of it. I believe their exact words were "that's why we're in business." The employees there were fairly nice, and paid little attention to me as I walked around the showroom for over an hour. It was pretty obvious that I wasn’t there to buy anything, as I was dragging my jaw across the floor in awe of their beautiful collection of cars, and wearing my college sweatshirt. I also learned that the owner of Symbolic also owns Silicon Valley Auto Group in Los Gatos, CA. I did meet a really cool older gentleman who was there to buy. He drove there in a Porsche 911 x50, and I believe he was shopping for a new Elise (they had two in the showroom). He told me that he also owned a 360 Spider with a manual transmission which he’d hardly drive. He said he prefers the manual over a paddle shift because he enjoys being a proactive driver. We discussed why we both prefer Ferraris to Lamborghinis (the only difference being that he could actually afford one.) I also got to watch them drive a brand new Gallardo into the showroom floor. The truth is, after moving to Southern California, seeing an exotic has become sort of anticlimactic. For example, I saw two different Gallardos and a 360 spider on the way to Symbolic. All in all, if you guys are ever in the San Diego area, check out Symbolic Motors in La Jolla. I have never seen so many Bentleys, Ferraris, and Lambos in one place before. It really made up for the fact that I missed Concorso Italiano, besides the fact that there wasn’t an F1 there. WOW, this turned out to be a really long post.

Yeah, living in the Southern Regions of California really does desensitize you to most cars that used to be special. I mean I still appreciate every one I see, but it's not that "Wow, it's a __________!!!" feeling anymore. I takes something really special to raise my blood pressure these days.
The other night we pulled into the California Pizza Kitchen parking lot and parked next to a beautiful Silver Gallardo. I'm sure in any other place, seeing a Gallardo might floor some people, but considering it was like the 8th or 10th one I've come across its become rather anti-climatic. BTW: It doesn't surprise me that they were tight lipped on the GTR. No worries though - the info will come out someday. >8^) ER |

Re: new pictures (007 and ?)
Alright guys, I was going to post up my pictures from my trip to Symbolic, but Drew from www.fast-autos.net just posted up some of his own. The pictures I took are almost identical to the ones in his gallery. Drew's pics are dated 9-25-04, and I took mine on 9-23-04. It would be kinda pointless to post my pics now. Check out his gallery to see Symbolic's latest inventory.
http://www.fast-autos.net/gallery/album170?page=1 Notice the original Ford GT40. The sign on its windshield says "This GT40 or ten new Rolls Royce Phantoms. Your Choice!!!" |

You can say that again Mini! I took pics. of over 30 different Ferraris in one day, including a few Lamborghinis and the tons of EvO's, Skylines, WrX's etc. I have a pic. of a fairly special Bentley with a W16. |
