Wondering why my engine stalled out...

The other day, I was driving, a bit fast... and I started to fish tail @ 95 MPH... couldn't bring the car under control, and I ended up pulling a 180 to make the car stop. Sometime during the 180 my engine stalled out, I'm not sure exactly where since I was listening to the radio and I dind't even realize it had stalled out till I tried to hit the gas and it didn't go. I've been discussing this with my friends and none of them can agree on a reason as to why this happened. (The car is auto btw) Anyone have any clues?

Well, if you're going 95mph in one direction, then you quickly spin the car 180*, you're effectively travelling 95mph backwards while your engine is trying to propel you at 95mph in the other direction. Plan and simple, it's going to stall your engine. We're not talking quantum physics here.

I don't think i'd worry too much about the stalling though. You probably won't be around too much longer to worry about it if you're driving like that. When you go, please try to aim for a tree or a pole instead of a car full of innocent people.

lol, I did a 180 into empty road, not into traffic, and it wasn't exactly trying to propel me forward, I was braking, not giving it gas. I guess it's still in a forward gear with the wheels locked / going backwards or something... so I guess that makes sense..

or, if your fuel level was low, could have moved enough to starve the fuel pump....like cue-ball said, dont be stupid....I hate it when others die from others ignorance....If you cant control it fast dont drive fast...

No it's not that, just don't drive excessive on public roads! Take it to the track.
