Clutch and Exhaust question

Hi,

I have a 2001 gsr, and i have an odd question. One day after driving thru allot of traffic, i noticed that there was a squeeking sound when i depressed my clutch pedal. I had to spray allot of oil on the clutch lever to get rid of the sound. This may sound strange but ever since then my clutch slips just a little bit, especially after i've been in traffic for 1 hour. Is it possible that some oil got on my clutch plate causing it to slip?

What exactly do you mean by the clutch lever? You are saying you sprayed what kind of oil? Do you mean the clutch pedal?

Anyways, squeeking clutches are most likely due to the throwout bearing not being lubricated well enough or, it is no good. The squeek is very common on hondas. It is annoying, but, spraying WD40 in it will only temporarily solve the problem.

The squeeking occurs because the fork or throwout bearing is not lubricated well enough. The causes of it not being well lubricated enough is due to wear and tear overtime, or, bad lubrication during its installation.

You said it feels like the clutch is slipping on you? Sounds like it may be about to crap on you. Or it already did. The worst that will happen is that your clutch will engage, or not engage (When it happened to me, my clutch was engaged, and just stayed there). Also, the noise went on for over two years before it happened.

If you ever drop out your tranny, check the throwout bearing by placing it in your palm and spinning it. Compare it with a new one. It should be spinning nice and smoothly with no resistance.

Squeek from the pedal and then clutch slips, doesnt really make sense. All this only applies if the squeeks are coming from the slave cylinder.
