Dimmer Switch actuator AC Delco #D844

I replaced a dimmer switch on a 1991 Century. In the process, or sometime before, the Dimmer Switch Actuator (AC Delco Part #D844) which is located in the turn signal multifuntional switch area came off. I thought the part broke off but when I searched AC Delco Parts on the web, the part is not broken (as far as I can tell). Can anyone provide some help in how this gets installed. It's a simple looking piece of "plastic" but I sure can't figure out how it fits into the turn signal switcxh area and activates the rod that actually pushes the dimmer switch (located down the column) on and off. Thanks for any help.
