was bored the other night so....

i originally was gonna pull the engine but couldn't find anyone with a picker...so i just took an assload of shit off the car and cleaned a lot of things, replaced the fuel filter, got my rear roll stopper in, and got brand new stock injectors for free from my friend...well when everything was put back in, started her up and the idle was at about 1500rpms...and it stayed like that even when i drove it and came to stops...so i adjusted the idle to get it around 750 like it was before...anyone know why my idle would be higher from just cleaning an assload of parts and installing that new shit? runs like a raped ape now too. also, another minor problem. when i really get on it, like past 5500rpms through the first three gears, oil spews out of my oil cap. it's an aftermarket cap too and has never leaked before. oh and one more thing...i picked up some shit at wal-mart that cleans injectors, valves and exhaust system. dumped it in the fuel tank and i had white smoke for a good hour after that. could it have been from that shit i dumped in my tank?

thanks for the help

haha im not sure dude but what you never do is add anything in to your fuel tank or oil that claims to clean your car or clean your engine and make everything perfect thats all BS never put any oil addatives or gas or spray anything in to your intake. That could have dome something.

And about the oil coming out maybe the gasket is just bad now and it just happens to leak put the stock one back on and try it if you still have it.

Re: was bored the other night so....

The oil caps on the 4g63's have a tendancy to leak due to the rubber gasket on the cap. The rubber over time hardens from engine heat and begins to leak. Not to worry, u dont need to buy new cap, u can order a new gasket from the dealer, part # MD311638. Or you can gotto the junkyard and get one, which is what i did, i grabed myself 4 caps as i seem to have bad luck w/ these things. BTW i bought a new oil cap from the dealer and it only cost me $16can, so just the gasket would be much cheaper
