high idle

my 5.8 is idling about 2000 rpm with the idle vale connected. it returns to normal speed with the idle vlave unplugged. I've tried unplugging temp sensors etc, but nothing seems to have an effect. any
suggestions ??

Your idle air control valve may be bad. I also ran into high idle problems with a bad ECT sensor. It was shorted and giving a reading of -254 which kept the engine in a cold start loop.
