It's cold and my 97 Voyagers heat won't work!

Hi, I hope that someone can help me with this problem. I have a 1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE. It has a 3.3 liter engine. For sometime we have had problems with the disapearing coolant leaking, but have found a hose problem and replaced it. After doing so we found that we had no heat, or let me add very little heat for a mere few minutes. The only heat that we do get has to be cycled within the vehichle, if you put the heat on defrost mode it turns cold quickly. We have changed the thermostat, and no changes. The heater core is not leaking inside the van at all, should I have the system flushed completly? What about the heater core hoses, how can they be flushed? Thanks for any help.

It sounds as if you have an air pocket in the heater circuit, its more common with rear heat vehicles but front only vans do it also. Check your coolant again, make sure it didn't go down and take it for a good roadtest. Then check the level again, carefully.
