Water spots after rain.
I live in the SF Bay Area, near San Jose. I thought we did not have acid rain. Today it rained for the first time since I got my new car. I thought it was no big deal. I have a quality wax on the car and I thought the rain was pure. This evening, after the rain dried, I tried removing some of the waterspots with quick detailer and a MF towel. They wont come off. What do I do and how do I prevent these in the future. Do most people just live with these?

Re: Water spots after rain.
If Microfiber and quick detailer do not work you may have to use a fine compound/paint cleaner. This has a fine grit in it that will scratch it off the surface without hurting your finish. You may only need to rewax after the compound. If that does not do the job either, you have a bigger problem than just water spots and may need to buff/course compound/fine sandpaper your car to remove the spots. Try calling 1-800-548-4321 they may be able to help you as well or send you the products you need.

Re: Water spots after rain.
u can never wax ur car wit out cleanin off all dirt, if u wax a car that is not washed ur r gonna rub all teh dirt into the paint when u wax n it will cause multiple scratches to the paint...the spots on ur car cud b acid rain stains (which are common) and very hard to get off the paint...keep it waxed and sealed to prevent nemore stains

Re: Water spots after rain.
Agreed..never wax a dirty car!
My feeling is to try a white vinegar/water mixture...50/50 and spray on spots and let sit about 10 seconds and wipe off! It should work! You will need to rewax the area's you clean again!

apply Maguires wax with the sponge applicator..
that will solve your problem. apply two or three times. Your car will be shining like a new dime. |

what f1guy said, white vinegar and water. Only use that if quick detailer doesn't work though. If I have water spots after a wash I try to get them off as quickly as possible. If you have some minor spots they will come off after a few washes and waxes. I had some like that awhile back.
