Tailgate Window Cutout Switch?
I have a '90 Full Size Blazer and the rear window will not operate.
The Haynes manual I have shows a cutout switch inline with the window motor. Does anyone know where it is located? |

Re: Tailgate Window Cutout Switch?
Your not going to like this but,,,,
On the Suburbans it is inside the tailgate. If the window won't come down, you will have to take the inside cover off from the inside. The Suburbans have two, one on each side at the latch. I am assuming that GM is doing it the same. The cutout switch prevents the window from operating with the door open. When ever we had window problems such as this, we would get the window down then with the gate open, manually close both latches to see what was going on. BE CARFUL and watch your fingers!! |

Re: Tailgate Window Cutout Switch?
I was afraid that was what was coming. Time to climb over the seat and take the covers off.
Thanx for the info. |

Re: Tailgate Window Cutout Switch?
Found the problem and it's not the switch.
Seems the motor collected condensation over the years and rusted / seized the lower bushing/bearing. Wouldn't allow it to turn. Took it apart, cleaned the shaft where it rides in the bushing, lubricated the bushing and put it back together. May have to replace it later but it works fine now. Thanx for the help and info. |
