it's a '96 GT.
when i start the car, the day time running lights indicator on the instrument panel flickers like mad (spastic, really), and i see that the actual daytime running lights are doing the same thing outside, flickering like crazy. after a bit, the instrument panel's flickering slows down to about the speed of the turn signals and the actual running lights just stop doing anything at all. this happens every time i use it during the day. the night time lights work fine. checked the fuses inside, nothing burned out or missing... what's going on?

Re: day time running lights are spazzing
check to see if the automatic headlamp sensor that comes thru the dash is dirty or partially covered (if the car has auto headlights). otherwise I would check the drl module itself

thanks for the help. but i fixed the problem by accident as it turns out:
had no free time to check what you suggested but last weekend while driving back from Chico, i noticed that my front right headlight was totally dead now. so i went and replaced it with the left one and lo and behold, the day time running lights are working again. like they were some early indicator of nearly dead headlights. thanks anyway tho |

had the horn problem too, i ended up checking the fuses and finding the one for the cigarette lighter was burned out, replaced that and the horn worked fine.
