Question timimg chain????

Hello! I Bought a 95 yesterday 2.2 and when i bought it they said it was the timing chain. husbands says he thinks it's not getting gas. he got down to the timing chain and it all looks good????? it will start but sputters and backfires and dies if you don't keep on the gas..... any ideas???????????? please help!

Clean the IAC valve and the IAC port. These get very dirty. Also clean the fuel injectors and check the pressure regulator. Good Luck.

it's on the throttle body, and is held on by 2 screws. Also, like public said, check fuel pressure.

it's not the IAC valve....gotta clean the injectors yet..idk! i just want it to go!

Just take your time. Once you get it right these genines are bulletproof. My 89 2.0 just turned over 297,900. It is ugly but it don't stop. My 94 2.2 is like new at 178,000.

i have a 98 z24 that just flipped 206000 today. i added a turbo at 201000, thinking it might not handle it , but so far no problems , idrive it everyday & take it to drag strip every other friday.but anyway maybe u have a burnt valve in ur 2.2

wellllllllll.........................it wasn't the timing at all~ it was the fuel pump! it runs alright it shakes a little and uses gas like crazy hubby thinks it's the fuel injectors

Yes this engine should get good mileage-around 30mpg or so.
