Need help choosing spinning wheels
Hey everyone,
This is my first time posting here. You all seem very knowledgeable; I look forward to the responses. I've got an '01 Lexus IS300 and I'd like to find some spinning wheels for it. Although they're practically cliche, I still find them great to look at. I'm looking for 18", and something that doesn't stick out noticeably beyond the fenders. A spinner kit, and wheel package that the kit would look decent with would probably be best -- due to the lower cost. I'm trying (emphasis on trying) not to spend more than $2500 for the wheels, kit, and tires. Also, I'd be interested to hear any comments about how well (or how poorly for that matter) they perform; like ride-quality, handling, etc. Thanks again for your help. Tyler fatkid007_2000@*REMOVE_THIS*yahoo.com P.S. Web site links would be great! |

Re: Need help choosing spinning wheels
Thats not alot your willing to spend on Spinners. Those wheels are very played out. On an IS300 you should go deep dish gunmetal with a chrome lip. If you get the spinners you will regret it down the road cause its a trend thats dead. Ride quality is dependant on the wheels(size)/suspension your running, not on the particular rim. The ride in 18's wrapped in 35's is hard very hard.

Re: Need help choosing spinning wheels
I was plannig on getting the spinners, and then applying a thick powder coat to the chrome. I like the thought of gun metal spinners; because I've never seen 'em before. As for some "deep dish" wheels with a chrome lip, that might be good for applying a powder coated spinning kit. Got any recommendations?
Thanks, Tyler |

Re: Need help choosing spinning wheels
18" spinners don't look right and you have very few choices in that size, most of which look cheap and aren't designed for the rim.

Hey Big_T, I was looking for spinners, but it seems as if they lost their touch. Your ride is sporty, a deep dish rim would probably go better. I have a 2001 Mitsu' Diamante, so I was trying to keep it classy. A good web site with lots of rims is superbuytires.com. check it out, hope it helps!
