Just Popped My Pshop cherry ;)

hey guys, after looking around here and staring at awe and amazement, i decided to use the tutorial sites that have sprung up through the threads and try my own
This is what i came up with.. the wheels arent perfect, its hard to find a pic of a car with the exact same angle, anyway all criticism is welcome so fire away

Original -

My Version - wheels, lens flare, window tint, lowered, clear indicator (i think you yanks call em repeaters)

Re: Just Popped My Pshop cherry ;)

Very nice for a first man. But remember when you lower, use the crop tool after to take off the top white bar thats left. I like your rim conversion that looks good, but it seems too shiny for its soroundings, so personally i'd turn down the contrast abit and maybe even desaturate it abit.

Lensflares i absolutely hate, not just your picture but everyones, they show no skill and are just a way of usually covering up mistakes.

When you cleared the front indicator lights, darken them abit next time so that you can see more details in it.

Dont take my critiscism as negative, because everyone around here knows that i allways like to give little tips and comments, so i just thought i'd let you know since your new to this section.

Keep it up man

Re: Just Popped My Pshop cherry ;)

no dudes! thanks heaps for everything you've said!

I thought the rims were wayyy too shiny myself, but i couldnt figure out exactly how to make them look nicer..
I also wanted to try and turn them black, but that didnt work either.. i think Lens Flares are pretty boring, they are just too easy to make, no challenge...

I also tried changing the color of the car but it just wouldnt work well (the silver base to start with, that is)

BuLLDoGG> yeah i sure am, but in reality im an import car man

once again guys thanks heaps for the criticism, cant wait to get started on my new project, or maybe i'll even keep using the porsche for now

im almost too embarressed to post this one, rougher than your mum's armpits can still see orange everywhere.. patience is the key with this kind of work, and its something i dont seem to have!

Paint, wheels and a clear 'repeater' - althought its not too clear, i really like my job on the back wheel, think it looks pretty good, the front wheel is whacked though, couldnt fix that bit at the bottom right hand corner.. ohhh well..

Re: Just Popped My Pshop cherry ;)

man your improving alot, keep it up man, the more you produce the more experience you get .

To make the rims black, first select the part and then proceed to desaturate, then go to Contrast/Brightness and play around with those settings, it usually turns out that you usually have to lower the contrast to black out the rims.

To be serious, the truck color change is very good, not many people can cover the orange teh way you did, well they can but most never do, that shows that you have very good selections.

Keep it up man.

Yep, and use the brightness to do the window tinting also that will make it look more realistic.... to me it looks like you used the airbrush?

Re: Just Popped My Pshop cherry ;)

I like that S10 a lot, very clean chop!

Try and find some higher resolution images. I think you will find they are much easier to work with.

Re: Just Popped My Pshop cherry ;)

Very clean chop means that its nice, not a lot of mistakes.

And ya, the front wheel could use some work. Looks like the rubber is all chunky.

Re: Just Popped My Pshop cherry ;)

once again thanks alot for your imput, im aware how terrible the front wheel is, ran out of patience and just wanted to finish it, i like the back wheel though

6sic6> nah dude i selected the window area, created a new layer and filled with blacked, then lowered the opacity... but i guess just selecting the area and fiddling with the brightness would have been much easier! lol oh well, next time

once again thanks alot guys, your input is great and your all very helpful

should i just keep this as like, my section, and continually post my projects in here? or start a new thread for each?

Re: Just Popped My Pshop cherry ;)

im glad you appreciate the comments people give you man, not many people can handle that. (noone in mind, just generally speaking)

And if possible start a new thread, so that people know you've done a new chop, and just generally its more organised.
