Re: cobolt vs. eclipse

The supercharged Cobalt should be able to run with the V6 Eclipse, in fact it might be faster.

I think Chevy made a good move with the Cobalt SS. Pretty much direct competition against the Scion tC w/ TRD Supercharger. I bet some minor mods will make the Cobalt SS faster then the V6 Eclipse.

Re: cobolt vs. eclipse

Agreed. As much as I like Toyota, the Cobalt SS looks edgier and more fun to drive, not to mention I can get it for much cheaper than the Scion; American dealers are much more willing to negotiate than the import sellers.

Re: cobolt vs. eclipse

I doubt it'll be bad at all. It's a cheap, front-wheel-drive four-banger.

i think the supercharged cobalt should be faster than a v6 eclipse, those eclipses are pretty weak performers and i gotta admit that cobalt looks pretty sweet, definately a good move on chevy's part. now ford needs to super/turbo the focus maybe AWD? ahhhhh that would be sweet.

well they did say that if they brought back the svt focus, it would be as a competiter to the STi and Evo.

ya, thats wut i been hearin, the focus is already a pretty popular car and the rally car market is wide open, ford needs to get in on it and i think the focus would be a sweat ass rally car and with the focus's current fanbase itll be able to keep up with the sti/evo in sales so they dont have to play catchup like with all new cars.

Re: cobolt vs. eclipse

I agree, we need a de-tuned Focus rally car to compete with the de-tuned STi and Evo rally cars.

No we don't
De-tuned is not cool.

If it wasn't de-tuned, it wouldn't be ANYWHERE NEAR street legal, so yes, we NEED a de-tuned version.

Re: cobolt vs. eclipse

Cobalt SS vs. RSX Type-S...that'd be a close match, probably a driver's race. The Cobalt makes just as much HP and a lot more torque, and it weighs about the same, but the RSX has shorter gearing and a much better top-end.
