97 ES300 (Windom) Beep Sound When Reversing - How To Stop It
Whenever I put the shift stick of my 97 ES300 to the Reverse ("R") position, an intermittent and rather loud "beep" sound is heard. I found this beep beep sound annoying. How can I stop this sound?

Is there an aftermarket beeper installed? If so,locate the beeper and disconnect it,or it is probably wired to the reverse lights.Find the wire and disconnect it.

Re: 97 ES300 (Windom) Beep Sound When Reversing - How To Stop It
Joe, thanks for the hint.
The beep comes from inside the car. I put my ears near the reverse lights but could not hear the beep, so it should not be the reverse lights. The beep seems to come from below the dash board, spent quite a bit of time searching for the buzzer but could not find it. |

This beeping is a feature telling you that the car is in reverse.

See if an auto sparky can locate and disconnect the beeper wire under the dash.
