'95 J30 Sunroof won't open.

I've got a '95 J30 and ever since I got it the sunroof won't open. It pops up when you do the "up/down" option on the control panel, but when I try the "open/close" option (where it opens completely and goes back into the roof) it just makes a noise. If you take off the panel and look at the motor you can see it turn and then stop. It opens manually or if you pull it along forcefully. I also tried to put silicon spray on the tracks thinking it needed lub. in the back but no luck. Has anyone else had this problem? What can I do to fix it?

You need sunroof motor.

I have a 1994, should I expect this problem to happen some time soon?
