Question Aftermarket clutch?

I need a new clutch for my '97 SH because the clutch isn't catching very well and the pedal is hard as rock. Since I only have 108,000 miles, my mechanic told me to look into racing clutches instead of a Honda cluch so that it will last longer. Does anyone have experience of aftermarket clutches? I only drive hard some of the time, so I was thinking of a good-quality clutch that doesn't shift TOO hard, but it doesn't have to be as smooth as OEM. I looked at ACT and they were $400. Any suggestions? Thanks

Re: Aftermarket clutch?

I have a Pro-Clutch in my 4th gen and I'm very happy with it. I'm not sure if they make them for the 5th gens or not, I just checked a site that didn't have them for the 5th gen, but look around and see what you can find.

I decided to get a heavy duty LuK Pro Gold Series. It looks like it's the best clutch out there for comfort and durability. I called around and talked to a lot of shops and mechanics. I'll let you know how it is once it's installed
