Cool redid my taillights

well......the title says it all..... i got fed up with driving around in taillights with tons of scratches and an ocean in them. after draining them of the water they had some permanent brown/green gunk on the inside of them and right now i just dont feel like getting some from the junkyard. so i went and spray tinted my back up lights with VHT nite shades cus the backuplights were the worst. then i went to Michael's and got some krylon stained glass spray and redid the rest of my taillights. now the scratches got filled up and there is no more visible crap that built up from the inside.
here are some pictures:

and a close up shot:

what do u guys think?

Not too shaby vlad. It'll look even better when you get some new OEM ones! Did you silicone them up real good so they wont leak again?

Re: redid my taillights

mine used to leak, it was because of that damn gasket behind it, would feel up my hatch with water also, sealed out the taillight from the outside, no more water.

Re: redid my taillights

i think the gasket's kinda doing its job....i still think it was the bulbs that werent put in right.....like they were put in but they were put in crooked so that the little grooves didnt align with the notches leaving big holes for water to possibly leak thru. never had water in my hatch tho...atleast i dont think.

Re: redid my taillights

Clean, Clean, Clean! Excellent the way they came out. Down the road I'm going to do the same thing. But what's funny is that I've never ever had any water problems in my taillights at all. Every 4th gen or 2nd gen crx I've seen has a fish tank in theirs but mine is clean. I guess I'm lucky.

Re: redid my taillights

I've never owned a 4th gen with leaking taillights, and I'm on the 3rd one right now. The only thing that fills with water is the center piece that I got from the junkyard.

How can the center piece fill with water? I didn't think it was possible. Or is it cause there is two un-used bulbs in there and water leaks in?

Re: redid my taillights

I've heard things about the CRX having two bulbs in the center piece beside the back up bulbs. I guess I heard wrong or something?
