Rear Brake Pads

Hey everybody, I got a question, I started to replace my rear brake pads after i finished the front. I went through all the steps in the rear until i got to putting the new pads in, i can't make the piston depress in order to put the caliper on. Can somebody please tell me how to depress the piston, and i've been told u have to turn it in the notches with a needle nose plier. but it didnt work, o by the way, it's a 97' Thunderbird LX.
Thanks

Re: Rear Brake Pads

you have to have a special tool to compress them because of the way the parking brake works. it spins the piston as it compresses i guess thats what i was told when i asked how to do mine and i have a 94 LX
