Question 2001 2.2 vs. 1998 civic 4dr. lx

I have a buddy that has a 4 door civic 5speed. MODS: cat-back.

and i have a 2001 2.2 5speed MODS: short throw, intake... basically stock.

I was wondering who you think would take the 1/4 mile.

Boy, that's a tough call on paper. You should have about 10 horsepower or so more than him stock vs. stock, but from what I've read, even the 4 door Civic weighs a couple hundred pounds less than our Cavaliers. Other people might have an opinion, but the only way to know would be to run him.

I have a 2.2 liter 5-spd cavy and I raced a 94 civic with a v-tech engine and I won. We both had cold air intakes and exhaust systems.

I know i would win too if i was racing a phone made in 94... BTW its VTEC no dashes or H on the end...sorry but i had to do this....and i find that kinda iffy on this...

i've been driving for almost 4 yrs now, and i know how to drive a stick... i raced a vtec with my g/f's 96 5 speed no mods and that thing just ate the car. I don't know what the civic was running but after 2nd i was like fuck it.... Hunnie your car is a POS...i dunno but i'll take your word on it...

as for the race outcome, race and find out.

Yes.... can you moderators make like a vs. forums so the can post that crap in there... kinda like J-body.org has... keep all the childish questions in there like "will i beat a civic" or just make an important note above saying to post that crap in there?

Re: 2001 2.2 vs. 1998 civic 4dr. lx

I drive a stock, 4 door sedan 96, auto, i raced my friend who has a stock 4 door sedan 94 EX HONDA

i beat em, but not by a lot, 2 nights ago, i was in his car, and at 4500-5500, that little 1.6 just screams, i'd say it even sounds more powerful than than the 115 HP cavy engine, those civics come stock with 125 hp, and weigh a good 400 lbs less than a cavy

according to statistics, that car new from the factory is supposed to do 8.8 to 0-60

Also my cavy has 62000 on the odo, and his has twice as much ...
a vtec will defently last longer than a GM motor.

Thats a pretty broad generalized statement to make. Every GM 2.2 OHV I've had has gone way over 200,000 miles, and I bought those cars used, and they were abused before I got them.
