2.3 3.1 swap

im sick of all the problems w/ the 2.3 quad4, 3.1's in my opinion, are very very reliable, and i need to know what all i will have to change, and buy to make the swap work. I have a 3.1 and wire harness out of a 94GA. And another thing what is up with the GA windows not wantin to roll down? is it the switch? thnx

Re: 2.3 3.1 swap

does the window go up or no? My moms GA would go down but not up. I tore it apart thinkin it was the switch and swapped it with the one out of my uncles GA of the same year and it did the same thing. Im thinking its a bad ground somewhere. Its definitly not the window motor tho

Re: 2.3 3.1 swap

for the window not working, check were the wiring goes from the door to the body of the car. thjis is were it flexes and wires break inside. should be in a black rubber boot

Yea you can make the swap but you really should think twice before you do. The biggest problem you will encounter is that the mounts that are welded to the engine compartment are all different. Struts and springs, drive axels, trans, many wire harness both inside and outside, cooling system, exhust, scads of electronics. I recomend not doing it. I built these cars in Lansing from 1983 until this year when they closed the line down. Even the stearing rack is different. If you decide to make the swap, good luck.
