weird shudder at 40
Hey guys maybe someone has heard or seen this before. I own a 2000 lx, It shifts great except for the first time it tries to go into torque converter lock-up after a cold start. It drops the rpms around 600 and feels like it wants to stall the motor. After that one time its perfect until the next cold start. It does happen every cold start though, so it is predictable. thanks in advance.

Check the transmission fluid level with the car hot and running.

The fluid is full, and according to the manual you check it hot and engine off.

I4 it's basically the same motor you have except i think yours is a 2.3liter mine is a 2.2 (longer stroke i think) I'm sure that you have a different tranny though.
First one broke the 1-2 shift plate and locked in 2nd....second one started slipping one morning on the way to work and by the end of the day wouldn't catch at all. Both (or all 3 i guess) were used though...2nd and 3rd i got for just $600 each and put them in myself
