Ummm....I think I bought a turbo kit.

Greddy manifold, polished and HPC coated i/c piping, Galant VR4 intercooler, 2 extra injectors, down pipe, T25 Garrett turbo.

Total cost $1500NZ....$US600!

How's that for a deal!

Nice! Very very nice!

There must be $500 worth of HPC coating there alone!

How used is the hairdryer? it looks like its been acid dipped then quickly painted to tidy it up for sale? would hate to go the same was as Vince's.

I take it the kit has come from another CRX? so you know it will all fit?

And yes you will need a controler if you want to run the 2nd injectors.
Of course if your only wanting to run low boost to start off with then I wouldn't bother. The stock ECU should handle about 5psi with little or no trouble.
Anymore and you need to start worring about internal mods.

I'm going to check the turbo for play in the bearings etc. The guy who is selling it has never fitted it to his CRX, so as far as I know it was used a little prior to being sold to him. I think the turbo was reconditioned by him...just got to check out on this, and I have since found out the BOV doesn't come with the kit...never mind

I will probably run about 6-7psi to start with, buy a second ZC and build it, and then when the first ZC blows, i'll chuck the new engine in and run about 12-14psi.

Here's the i/c

You wont when you have to order rods and low c/r pistons from the states.

But remember all that money and all that extra power and Vince still chose a B16a as his prefered engine.

Sweet Worshp

When I dropped a Rayjay onto a 1G I had it reconditioned to be on the safe side. It turned out that the impeller shaft was out of true and the bearings were on their last legs, even though it looked fine. Maybe get it checked (and the intercooler checked for leaks) just in case?

Damn good buy mate

Hey Moppie - it's time's like this I hate owning an SiR - I'd never get the courage up to drop a turbo on it - even though I'd like to

Why? Running 6psi Worshp is still only just going to have as much hp as we are. Fully built running 12psi and he will have more, but its nothing that some Mild street cams won't fix, on stock internals
Add that turbo with 6psi, and whoooo mate! By by Worshp. Dont even ask what fully built with 12psi will do.
(of course Worshp would be able to do it twice for the same money )

And haveing driven a turbo'd FWD car with about 170hp (old DOHC Turbo 323) I have to say my SiR would walk all over it on a Track. Boost is good, but only when you have somewhere to put it. Sending 200hp (b16a on 5-6psi) to the frount wheels might sound like fun, but think about how much trouble we have now with wheel spin, then double it :frog:

I could go an ITR intake cam, but anything more is getting scary and hard to put on the road. :sun:

Thanks for the vote of confidence dude...much appreciated

A 323 FWD Turbo suffers from terminal torque steer even in stocko form, so comparing that to a CRX's handling isn't quite right...besides, I don't think I will be track racing until the big brakes are fitted (I have found some 4 spot 300ZX calipers and am currently looking for some decent rotors to go with them).

P.S. the Cyber CRX with ZC and turbo running 12psi ran 13.2 sec 1/4 mile. That is fast enough for me for street driving.
