got a free rs the other day
my boss got a short notice transfer and gave me his blown engine 96 RS eclipse. now i'm considering doing a 4g63 turbo swap if i don't just sell the car. i only want to spend a few hundred on the swap, so does anyone know where to look? i've already looked on ebay and junkyarddog.com. the junkyard is the pricier spot. also, anything i should know about this car, like recalls and stuff before i get it running? thanks
also, what it the engine code? i know it's a 2.0L I4

If you have an RS and want to do a 4G63 conversion it is going to cost you wayyyy more than a few hundred bucks. First the the engine itself is going to cost you a lot. Then its not as simple as dropping the engine in, you have you make new motor mounts, chage the transmission and a lot of other stuff. So yea, its going to be more than few hundred dollars, otherwise there would be a hell of a lot of people doing the conversion.

the motor code is 420a its the 4cylinder motor in 2g nt eclipses/talons it also in dodge/plymouth neons and stratus/breeze. just put in a 420a then sell it

just as a note though, you can't use a neon engine to swap in as it faces the wrong way, if you find a 2.0L Avenger or Sebring, you can use that engine though.

well isnt the block the same? im pretty sure they just reversed the head so shouldnt a neon block work?
edit- if your heads still good to use again that is..
