Re: Engine Help

Lol, I'm planning on doing a b18c swap too... just buy the motor stock if you're not sure. Then do a lot of reading that's what I'm doing. I feel the same way I just got a civic hb, and I'm clueless... I want to be apart of the honda world but I don't know where to start.... so I figure I save up for a type R swap. Once I get it I have a few experienced friends that hopefully will help me put it in and give me some advice. It if was up to myself.... I don't even know how a motor works... =p.

Re: Engine Help

I'm assuming you're talking about the GSR motor, if you're not then let me know. You'll need mounts, shiftlinkage, ecu (with the same OBD as your car is would be easiest), tranny, axles, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, new radiator hose to fit the bigger end of the motor to the smaller end of your stock radiator. And then everything that's a part of the motor itself like fuel rail, alternator, starter, distributor, sensors, plugs, clutch, flywheel, etc.
With the OBD thing, it'd be easiest to get the '94-'96 motor because it's OBD1; the same OBD as your '95 civic. With that the only thing you'll have to do is run wires for vtec, knock sensor, and the secondary butterfly. Here's a pinout for the ECU where all the wires will go: http://technet.ff-squad.com/ Scroll down to the "ECU & Wiring Tech" part and click on the "OBD-1 pinout diagram"

Re: Engine Help

Just the block or the WHOLE motor? What motor do you have now?
