Optilux by Hella
Has anyone tried a set of Optilux lights. They are made by Hella, and run around $50.00/set. I was thinking a set would make good backup lights. I saw them at Advanced Auto Parts in Maryland.

Hey!
If you are talking about the 1200 line, I had the amber fogs. They put out good light and they cut off at a horizontal plane like a fog light should. The only thing is that they have little vents on the back of the housing and after the winter last year, moisture collected inside and one of the reflectors went to crap. Damian |

Thanks you just answered my main concern. They are not sealed. Thanks.

Just a FYI. The PIAA 1500XT's aren't sealed either. The front lenses have waterproof sealing, but there are slight vents in the back that will fill with water if you submerge them for any length of time.

Going with the obvious
For that price, get proper reverse lights, pattern will be better, even my cheap end ( Blazer I think ) lights are holding clear. ( Mounted low, and driving through heavy road grime and salt filled sludge )

I really like my two IPF backuplights. They are solidly made, have glass lenses that create a wide dispersion pattern for the rear of your truck. The wiring harness and relay can easilly handle two lights together, and has the switching like one of Coolermans kits (reverse always on, reverse off, reverse light on only when in reverse).
