mm i heart commas, but anyway, no, thats the easiest way to get youself nick names like "rice burner" plus if its not done correctly, youll blow you self to tiny bits of rice

Don't rice your CRX (my favorite honda/only honda I like, and thats saying alot for it lol) flames are not meant to be coming out of regular old gasoline cars! If you realy want more preformance steal a CRV (is that the car with the engine that fits most civics?) and do a swap and get a turbo setup, good deal since your car probably cost only 1-2k.

b18a is the car engien that will fit in most civic...with a motormount swap...but engine swaps arent as easy as you are makeing them out to be...even a honda engine for a honda engine...you have to figure out htings such as ECU and ECU integration into the overall car controll system...or yo ucan have a stand alone ECU which isnt the best thing for everyday applications since the ECU cant find out what is going on with the rest of the car an make adjustments....

have fun getting arrested. plus it messes up ur engine bc it has to cut iginition on some of ur cylinders to get unburned fuel trough the exhaust and get ignited by a spark plug at the end of ur exhaust.at least taht how some kits work.

Any B-series motor will bolt right into any 92+ civic or 90+ Integra, and a B16A right into any 88+ civic. The bigger 1.8 and 2.0 B-series motors can be put into 88-91 civics too, but there are more things needed to do. It really is relitivly easy to dump any B-series into any 90+ Teg or 92+ civic. No major "motor mount swap." As for ecu...you use the ECU for the motor, simple...You're putting in a 97B18B1 into a 94 Civic lets say. You'll need an OBD-I 94-95 ecu, from an Integra LS, RS, or GS (The car the B18B1 cam in). Do the wiring harness and there you go. With a Honda it's pretty striaght forward, it's not massive re-wiring of the whole car and all the control systems, like it would be to dump a WRX motor into a regualr 98 Impreza.

It is never, I REPEAT NEVER....EVER EVER...neccassary to use a Stand alone just because you swapped motors. That is a HUGE MISCONCETION.

To think you need to completly re-wring the whole car or control system, or just break down and use a stand alone becuase it's so hard, is just incorrect. There is never a NEED for a stand alone when swapping a honda motor. Just use the correct ECU, do the wiring harness (not that hard). Sure, there are a few things you need from the donor car, axles, mounts, etc...but it's not this super-duper hard or complicated thing like some in here tried to hake it sound like it was.

Also, a B20 (CRV Motor) is a bored out B18B1..it has thinner cylinder sleeves as a result. This means it can't handle as much boost. If someone did go with a CRV motor liek was suggested above, putting in the LS (B18B1) cams will increase the power output. Thinner Cylinder walls becuase it's basically a bored out B18B1 block, less boost, swappin in LS cams...just buy the B18B1 instead to begin with.
