Angry Locks Wont Open!!! Help!!!

i have a 98 toyota 4runner limited... my locks sudennly wont work anymore. (its not rusted at all) The locks that wont work are the front passenger and driver side locks, and the trunk lock. When i put the key in it wont turn at all, same with the trunk, its been like this 4 a while too. The only way i get in the 4runner is by my keyless remote with my aftermarket remote start. The trunk really pisses me off because even when i get in with my keyless remote, and unlock the car, the trunk wont open when i pull the latch. I have to unlock the car, hit the bottom of the trunk under the liscence a couple of times while pulling on the lever at the same time, and then only will it open. its soo embarrisen havin to do that in front of people. I NEED HELP!!!! anybody have any ideas whats wrong?? The dealer said it would cost a lot to even look at the locks, let alone fix it.. anybody have any ideas?? where else can i bring it other then the dealer to fix the locks that would do it for cheap??? I NEED HELP!!! thanks...

Does it do this with any other keys also? Might be a bad key.

Re: Locks Wont Open!!! Help!!!

Do the locks turn with the key and the door stays locked? or do the locks refuse to turn?

Re: Locks Wont Open!!! Help!!!

It might be that aftermarket keyless entry. It might have a short, which might prevent the locks from moving up or down, or turning. Dry disabling the keyless entry, then open the doors with the key, roll your windows down to, just in case you cant get it open.

the key goes in, but the lock will not turn

i dont think its the keyless, because it works perfectly now, thats the only way we can get in at all....

Re: Locks Wont Open!!! Help!!!

Try spraying graphite powder into the locks and working the key in and out.

Re: Locks Wont Open!!! Help!!!

The graphite will free-up the lock tumblers/mechanism if this is the problem. A body shop will be able to help you with the rear door.

Re: Locks Wont Open!!! Help!!!

Probably - The rear door sounds more like a binding problem resulting from a collision or a loose latch.
