Unhappy alternator going bad?\???//?

I think i need an alternator also i dunno if it is the alternator tho... as i was pulling into work it made this sound... i never heard it before it got louder as a pressed on the gas...well after work i went to check it and it sounds like its either coming from the alternator or sumin under it. And when i shift to 5th gear now it acts like it wants to die ... i wanna get this fix since i get paid 2moro... can anyone help???

Re: alternator going bad?\???//?

sounds like an alternator bearing or tensioner pulley bearing squealing. Take the serp belt off and free spin the alternator and tensioner, if one feels gritty or doesn't spin smoothly, that's the one to change.
