grinding while driving--not brakes

ok, i have a 98 yukon, 135k on it. It makes a grinding sound while driving. seems to be comming from the passenger side. its real noticable when i hit low spots or if a fat person is in my passenger seat (no i don't fuck fat chicks). Anyways, is it the u-joint? Im under carriage illiterate, help me out.

holy old thread batman.....

problem was interelated to the 4 wheel drive gear box, some loose bearings and stuff. I guess a bearing would scrape the gears when weight was in the passenger side of the car. Strange, but true. Thank god a friend of mine is a GM mechanic, or it woulda been a fortune.

peace
