Re: Fan Belt slipping

Is it an aftermarket belt?

They tend splip a lot.

If it is aftermarket try using a Ford motor company belt.

Re: Fan Belt slipping

I would try the ford belt if you want to stop the noise.

Re: Fan Belt slipping

I'm not sure.

I would guess around $25. I'll ask tomorrow while I'm at work. I work at a Ford dealership.

Re: Fan Belt slipping

it could also be your tensioner pully causing the belt to slip...and if i remember correctly from when i replaced my belt, to get a ford motor craft belt its gunna be around 45-50 bucks.

Re: Fan Belt slipping

The belt price Jworm stated is around the norm it does vary from dealer to dealer depending on how much they mark up.

With the shifter I suggest going aftermarket because the factory shifter is over a 100 bucks, I believe it is around 150.

Re: Fan Belt slipping

There is a little pin in the shifter handle facing towards the dash. Parts stores carry them.

Try a junkyard.
