99 Tahoe - Theft Deterrent shuts off fuel pump???

My 99 Tahoe has developed an annoying problem. Would not start - or started but only ran for a few seconds. I hooked it up to the dignostic computer and the code indicates the theft deterrent system has been activated, and shut down the fuel pump.

I can not find instructions anywhere on resetting this.

Any thoughts?

I had a very similar problem with my 98.I would jump in it turn the key, start it and put it in "D" and it would die.It did that three times in about 2 weeks.I don't know about your but the 98's have a security system called "passlock".I don't fully understand the system but what i did get from reading about it is...When the key is turned on it somehow puts a password to the computer and tells it to keep the fuel pump running.I also read that if it dyes like what we are experiencing to leave the key on for 10 min then shut it off and try again. It is supposed to reset the password.Anyways what i started to do after i researched this problem is every time i start it i turn the key on,watch the security light in the dash, when that goes out i start it and i haven't had a problem since.I hope this helps.Let us know.
