Angry Cavalier engine revving constantly

I have had my car in storage for three months and now when I started it the engine revs between 3k and 4 k constantly. It has a 2.4 DOHC engine. The battery was dead and I had to jump the car to start it. Any ideas???

It needs to relearn its idle settings. When the battery dies or is disconnected the ECM gets reset. Give it a little time and it should return to normal on its own.

Re: Cavalier engine revving constantly

If it's idleing that high, I would say it's a stuck IAC, that's awfully high rpm for ECM amnesia
