Rear view mirrors

Alright, here's something I've been itching to ask for a long time. I know some kits come with some sort of easy way to attach the rear view mirror to the front windshield, but kits like the Tamiya 350Z have the tiniest surface area for glue. So I pose this question: how many of you skip this step in this certain case?

I do, only when its got a small spot to attach it though.

I do it. My trick is to use epoxy: I place it on the mirror, let it stick untill it's gooey, then place it on the windsheild. I leave the windsheild upside down so gravity will hold it in place until it cures. Willimo lurvs epoxy!

If it's on the real car - it should be on the model...

With the glues available these days attaching parts like the rear view mirror shouldn't be a problem. I've done pretty much exactly the same thing willimo described in the past.

I use five minutes epoxy glue. First I apply it on the contact surface of the mirror part, and wait for a few minutes without doing anything. Then, put the mirror on the up-side-down windshield part, and hold it for 60 seconds. After that, take fingers off from the mirror part, and wait for a few more minutes.

Try using future floor polish, coat the inside, and stick it on, it's worked for me before!

Only drawback is, it won't be as stable as a glued one, but it's got good tack after a few hours, and eventually, you probably won't be able to get it off. Just don't throw the car around!
