XM radio loses signal in 2003 Yukon XL

I have a 2003 Yukon XL that has XM radio installed. I can be either have the truck parked outdoors or in my garage and intermittently when I start it and drive away I have no XM signal for 9-10 minutes. I have call XM radio directly while the system is out and they tell me there is not issue with their signal to the truck. I have had them reset the radio remotely several times but the problem always returns. The dealership says they need to see that there is no signal before they can chase the bug but many times it happens so quickly there is not time to drive it to the dealership and show them. Does anyone have any ideas...could I have a bad antenna, or a electrical issue with the xm part of my radio. I could not find a TSB (tech svc bulletin) on this problem so any input will be appreciated.

Re: XM radio loses signal in 2003 Yukon XL

Sorry to hear you're having the woes. For what it's worth, XM had to reset my radio on three different occasions - the last one being where I sat idling in a VERY wide open area for 30 minutes.

I'm just guessing, but it seems like the problem should kick out an OBD error, which would stay in place even after the system functionality is restored. Has the dealer examined this? I wish I could be of more help - good luck and please keep us posted.

Take care,
Jerry

Just a quick update, just took my Yukon in for service and to diagnosis this XM defect and unfortunately the dealership said they could not replicate the XM radio losing it's signal and there was no code thrown to the computer. Low and behold, I drove away and 15mins later I lost the signal again for about 3mins...unfortunately not long enough to drive it back to the dealership. If anyone has any insight on what I am battling or why this problem would not register a OBD code I would appreciate it.
