Shifting on a 2004 2.5 RS

Any idea where I should shift if I wanna push the car to it's max potential? Also what are some good revs for launching? Thanks!

Re: Shifting on a 2004 2.5 RS

REDLINE that bitch and dump the clutch HAHAHA Im just kidding man... The potential of the engine starts to drop at 5800 RPM so if you shift at 6000 and dont go to redline then it should be alright... Launch I do 5000 RPM launches but I feather the clutch off the line so it doesnt bog down...

Yea its basically a slip of the clutch... While you're at the line keep the revs up and release the clutch until it starts to grab then hold it there until the light goes green, then let it off as you gas it... instead of popping it. It should help to not bog as well as keep the revs from dropping too low... Hope that helps... I still say REDLINE it and dump it LOL

Re: Shifting on a 2004 2.5 RS

And as for shifting after launch, find your rev limiter. After a few instances of bouncing off the rev limiter, you'll know where to expect it. The optimum time to shift is about a millisecond before you hit the rev limiter (except in instances where shifting would take more time than hitting the rev limiter, like when you're about to brake for a turn anyway).
