Hey Board,
This is Jamie Shaw. A few of you may know me from other posts and some may not. I am the proud owner of Shaw Vision Automotive. We specialize in domestics (ie. Mercury, Ford, Chrysler, Chevy...). We have developed alot of stuff for domestics and are in the process of posting them on the site. We are currently working on clear tail lights for the 99-02 Cougar called Detours. Now these were expected in August but D.O.T. regualtions set us back. We are still pressing forward though. Also, we are developing a universal clear hood kit. We, hopefully, will post the pictures for that within the next few weeks. With all of that said. Why do people diss domestics so much? What's weird is that even Honda is made here! There aren't any true "imports." There isn't a car that you see on the street that has officially been imported. Import means not accessible in the U.S. Last I looked, Honda, Nissan, Toyota, etc. have their own dealerships and manufacturing plants here in the US. I am in no way dissing them, but they are way too over rated. A car is a car. They all drive and produce exhaust. They all can be modified for more hp, etc. In short, domestics are far too underestimated. -Jamie D. Shaw Shaw Vision Automotive ShawVisionAuto.citymaker.com |

"That Is True But..."
That is true about the 99-02 Cougar. Reason being, the market for them has began to shrink. The resale on them is crazy though. By the time you notice a Cougar at the car lot, a teenager has snatched it up that same weekend! Hondas are so low to keep up because their parts a readily available. Flood the market with DVD players and they will be less than VCR's, see what I'm saying? You could probably go to Wal-Mart and buy Honda parts where as the Mercury dealership probably won't have a single part in stock for a 99-02 Cougar. I rate cars based on potential, that's why I say stop under estimating domestics. Couagrs have their share of problems but the true enthusiast will take'm in stride, later.
