Contest entry....BMW 850 CSi

OK, let me first apologies for the horrible quality of the photos. I have had a few problems getting the camera linked to the PC since an upgrade but future pics will be improved quality.

It started off as a 1/18 BMW 850 CSi that fell off the shelf a couple of times. The wheels came off and the paint got scratched up It was pretty completew, but just ended up sat on the floor next to the bed. Here is what it looked like after I took it apart but before any work started:

Then I took it apart and with a bit of playing about, I have got a full DTM roll cage in:

The roll cage goes down the rear window in 4 positions, across the roof, down the sides by the doors and down the a pillars as well.

Of course, it is just fitted in temporary right now and will come out to be chromed up.

The car will be slammed a bit more than it is right now, the wheels are being changes for some much nicer rims, the car is now in the process of being stripped so it can get a fresh paint job.

The theme will be along the lines of a modified show car so back seats will be out and a big (1/18th) ICE install will take it's place. Outside there will also be some changes but I won't say any more as I don't want to give the game away at such an early stage.

Re: Contest entry....BMW 850 CSi

I read the rules like this:

Classes/Categories:
The categories will not be further divided because of limited number of entries and the idea is to find the best modified SUV/Truck.
-Car
-SUV/Truck

So you can enter either an SUV, a truck or a car.

If I have misinterpreted the rules, I will get cracking on a '53 Ford F100, but I'd prefer the BM as I'd come up with something like the area 51 vehicle.

Casper read the FAQ or if that fails PM Mike. You're taking the post off-topic with comments like that.

Re: Contest entry....BMW 850 CSi

Ok, one more picture despite the horrible picture quality.

It's going in a paint strip bath as soon as I post this and then I'm off to bed as it's 2.30am here.

As you can just about see, I have some different rims, they are some multi spoke BK289's I think. I have also made some lexus lights for the rearwhich worked quite well I think. the lights that would normally continue on the the boot lid will disapear as the boot is getting smoothed. Front set up will also change but you can wait till the car is primed up
