Rear Tire wear please help!
well, when i first purchased my car 92 prelude, the back tires were wearin on the inside more, and after i bought new tires, i realized that it wasnt just an alignment and the place i took it to told me i needed new springs in the back, well i decided i would buy new shocks and springs, i went with eibach pro-kit and kyb agx shocks, all the way around, lowering 1.2". No big deal right? well, i figured my problem would be fixed with the wearing.. well it wasnt, i know that lowering can set off the camber, but it hsouldnt this much, so i bought a camber kit, and it wont let me adjust it enough (its 0 to 3 degrees) and i also found out that the more i try to adjust it, the more my toe is set off in the back, My back end is f-ed totally, i just took a 800 mile round trip, and came back and my tires in the back are showing the belt on one side, and almost on the other. I just got new tires and rims about 5000 miles ago, and there worn this much. i have no idea what the hell is going on, and the alignment place i went to, said they got it as good as it gets, and the toe and camber were still out of manufactures specs. however the front ones are fine, this makes no sense. Could i have been sent the wrong springs for the back, could i have installed the wrong springs in the back? if anyone has any suggestions at all, that would be great because i really need this fixed b4 i just start going thru more tires.... Oh and another mechanic told me that my system in the back (2 10's) and an amp, prolly weighing 60-80 lbs, could have something to do with it, but i know thats not true, becase that much weight wouldnt have my back end do what its doin in such severity. plus i know a ton of other peoplewho have lowered their prelude and or put a system in it, without my problems... thanks in advance for any help and im sorry for the lengthy write-up -Ryan

Re: Rear Tire wear please help!
your sterio wont be the problem, especially after you put new springs in, the lowering springs should be stiffer then the factory ones were, so you wont get any change from 60lbs on the back, and if you did then your car would bottom out if you put 1 or 2 people in the back of your car anyway. For your tire wear problem, you seem to know just as much if not more than I would about that problem so I can't help you out there. Good luck with it though, lol.

If you've tried everything thus far, it is a possibility that your frame is bent. Has the car been in an accident before?

thanks for the help guys, and when i bought it i was told it wasnt in an accident, but it seems that would be the only logical answer, i guess im gonna see if i can try to get adustable toe adjusters, to further adjust that, after i adjust the camber... its just it should not be having this much trouble, because i see all these preludes that are lowered and i never saw a topic on tire wear b4... but thanks for the help
